Kia Motors unveils technologies for autonomous driving through 2020
Редактор: Михайло Мельникkia motors has announced its intention to invest heavily in the development of new autonomous driving technologies. the company plans until 2020. introduce a series of semi-autonomous technologies to drive models in its range as the brand’s goal is to produce a mass-produced fully autonomous vehicle by 2030.
kia’s initial investment by 2018 will be $2 billion. will allow the company to develop the first advanced driver assistance system (adas), a state-of-the-art driver assistance system that will allow kia (http://www.kmanual.net/en) to produce next-generation intelligent cars for several years in a row.
kia is working closely with suppliers and related companies to develop a host of advanced technologies in three distinct categories that will allow the driver to drive their vehicle in a fully autonomous manner:
“recognition” – the development of new sensors to recognize nearby vehicles, “look” at the road ahead, and identify bad driving conditions;
“judgment” – a modern computer system that allows the car to make a decision based on information from adas sensors;
“control” – active electronic and mechanical systems that allow the car in a particular situation to implement the decisions made by the autonomous system.
in the next few years, kia plans to introduce partially autonomous adas driving technologies with many new features to hit the market by 2020.
the company is currently developing a highway driving assistance (hda) system that combines the lane guidance system (lgs) – a system for guiding and keeping the car in the correct lane and an upgraded intelligent system for maintaining a constant speed – advanced smart cruise control (ascc). had is designed to automatically maintain the required distance from the vehicle in front, keeping it in the freeway lane according to the allowed maximum speed using information provided by the navigation system.
the traffic jam assist (tja) system currently being developed by the company will make it easier for the driver to work in heavy traffic by tracking the vehicle in front on congested roads. the system has many sensors that allow you to keep your distance and keep to the established lane.
to make it more convenient for drivers to park in hard-to-reach places, the company plans to introduce new modern technologies. in addition to the existing intelligent parking assistance system (spas), which parks the car in parallel as well as in parallel, kia will introduce the advanced remote parking assistance system (rapas), which enables automatic parking in the car. intelligent control of access to the cabin without a key.
the new technologies will join the rich set of innovative systems already available in the brand’s latest models – sorento (http://www.kmanual.net/en/sorento), optima and sportage (http://www.kmanual.net/en/sportage). the main goal of modern technology is to make driving safer and more convenient for brand customers by identifying and signaling danger, as well as helping the driver (or car) to take adaptation measures. currently, the brand models are equipped with lane departure warning system (ldws) – lane keeping assistance system (lkas) – blind spot detection system (bsd) – blind spot detection system.
